Pertanyaannya biasanya begini,,
1. What course/field are/have u been studying?
I HAVE BEEN STUDYING -sebut nama majornya-,misalnya: MATH, IT, ENGLISH, MECHANICAL INSTRUMENTS etc.
kalo bisa sih, jawaban dipanjangin yah dengan menyebut udah berapa lama dan blajar dimana.
Misalnya: I have been studying English literature at Universitas Indonesia for 4.5 years.
KALO BINGUNG GRAMMARNYA, INGET2 PERTANYAAN SI INTERVIEWER. Dia mulai nanya dengan ‘have u been studying’, maka jawab dengan bentuk yang sama yaitu have+been+katakerja+ing. Lo bisa aja ganti STUDY jadi LEARN. Gpp, tp inget ya, teteup dipakein -ing.
Kalo si penanya make bentuk gini ‘how long did you study English?’ maka loe jawab pake tense yang sama yaitu past ‘I studied English for 4.5 years at UI’ –> brarti loe either dah lulus, ato drop out hehe, pokoke dah gak kul lagi.
2. Why do u study it?
Kalo kena WHY maka yang gampang mulailah jawaban dengan BECAUSE, trus lo ngomong deh alesan elo. BECAUSE I LOVE TO LISTEN TO SONGS IN ENGLISH ato apalah.
3. Tell us a little bit about yourself
HA, INI YANG TRICKY. Ada banyaak hal yang bisa elo ceritain, tp berhubung ini interview -nervous bok- dan pake English, pilihlah topik yang aman. Elo bisa mulai dengan data diri elo sendiri. Misalnya ‘MY NAME IS TADPOLE (bhs inggrisnya kecebong hihi), I AM 25 YEARS OLD. I GRADUATED FROM FACULTY OF ENGLISH LETTER, UNIVERSITY OF INDONESIA. -kalo blum lulus, ganti jadi: I HAVE BEEN STUDYING ENGLISH AT bla bla bla.
kemudian lanjutin dengan hobi elo.
I LIKE PLAYING GUITAR, AND LISTENING TO MUSIC.
dan karakter elo –please sebut yang bagus dulu–
I AM HONEST, HARDWORKER, AND RESPONSIBLE.
Pokoknya inget, pilih topik yang aman.
4. Do u consider yourself as a team player?
OH HONEY, ALWAYS SAY ‘YES’ TO THIS QUESTION meskipun pada dasarnya elo seorang penyendiri.
5. What makes a good teamwork?
MMM..JAWAB AJA KIRA2 GINI: A GOOD COOPERATION AND COMMUNICATION BETWEEN ALL TEAM MEMBERS.
6. Do u have any work experience previously?
kalo dah pernah kerja sebelumnya, jawab YES. Kalo belum jawab NO.
Yang jawab YES, jabarkan pengalaman kerja sebelumnya KALO BISA TANPA HARUS DITANYA LAGI.
Mis: Yes, I have work experience at PT Samsung Indonesia as an HR Officer for 3 years.
7. How would u adapt to a (new) working environment?
Jawab aja : I adapt to a new working environment by learning the situation. ATO I adapt to a new working environment by making friends with all the persons regardless their age and position.
8. How do u deal with a ‘difficult’ person?
MM..ini juga tricky. Kalo loe ampe dapet pertanyaan begini, biasanya…dikantor itu emang ada top level yang masuk kategori difficult to please…(kalo cuman staf biasa mah gak dianggep).
Jawab aja ginih ‘I WILL CONSIDER A DIFFICULT PERSON AS A GOOD PERSON, HOWEVER IF CONFLICTS OCCUR I PREFER TO SETTLE BY GOOD COMMUNICATION’.
9. Do u think ($…) is appropriate salary for a starter?
Terserah elo deh, gaji yang ditawarin cucok gak sama elo?
Kalo cucok, say YES IT’S APPROPRIATE.
Kalo ndak, say it politely NO, I AM AFRAID IT IS NOT APPROPRIATE TO ME CONSIDERING MY PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE, SO I BELIEVE A GOOD COMPANY LIKE YOURS WILL NOT MIND RAISING IT A LITTLE BIT. I WOULD RATHER SAY Rp bla bla bla AND YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.
10. Your plus and minus?
Sebut aja, plus elo apa. Minus elo apa. Tips: saat elo nyebutin minus/kekurangan elo, jangan lupa siapin jawaban bagaimana cara ngatasin kekurangan ini.
misalnya ‘I am a forgetful person, that’s why I always bring PDA/agenda with me for reminders and so far it helps me a lot’.
ATAU:
‘I am an emotional person BUT I have learned to manage my emotion by counting to 100 hundred before I burst’.
Pokoknya, siapin jawaban cara mengatasi kekurangan elo..gitu ajah.
Pake baju yang bersih dan rapih, rambut rapih, gak usah mandi parfum yang penting gak bau, duduk yang tegak tp gak kaku, saat interview mata jangan kemana2, liat aja mata ato liat hidung atas si penanya. Jangan meluk tas/map/anything, tangan bebas di pangkuan. Percaya diri. Interviewer berpengalaman bisa langsung menilai seseorang sejak pertama kali ketemu. Kesan pertama sangat penting. Jujur. Jangan me mark up, jangan mendramatisir. Sekali lagi percaya diri.
Inget Andrea Hirata yang saat ngelamar beasiswa S2 dari Uni Eropa, nyantumin pengalaman kerja sebagai karyawan kontrak pabrik tambang dan juru sortir pos, tp kejujuran, kecerdasan dan percaya diri membawa mantan kuli panggul ikan ini ke Sorbonne, Perancis.
